TUTORIAL VIDEO RESEARCH TASK
camera angels- This camera is a mid-shot also can be called a vlogging shot this is because it is placed still in front of him as he speaks. he has edited by using quick cuts to tell you the basics for a camera, he does this so it can get straight to the point on how the camera works and doesn't drag on him talking about something else.
lighting- he has used natural lighting as as the left side of his face is brighter as he is getting the reflection from his window.
sound design- The sound design is very good as his voice is very clear. he has music over the top but it is quieter so you can still hear his voice very clearly. he would have a microphone either attached to the camera or off screen as he hasn't got a mic attached to him.
I would use the idea of having music in the background while there is a voiceover in my video as it makes the video a lot more exciting and when you forget something or are showing something and not talking there something to fill the gap and no awkward silence
this is a good tutorial as it shows you what you can do before you have any equipment and shows you all the best settings and is very well edited
camera angles- he uses a few different camera but the main one he uses is the vlogging angle as this it the best way to do a tutorial while showing someone how to do it. when he is talking there is no cutting but when he starts to do something there is a lot of cutting this makes it quicker and doesn't make the viewer get board.
lighting- he has used natural light as when hes giving the tutorial the room is quite dark but his face is brighter as the window is shinning on him.
sound design- he is using a microphone on the camera as he enplanes in the video how to set it up and explains that is the camera he is using to prove it is a good quality sound as his voice is very clear he hasn't got any music over it but he is a good speaker so he doesn't stutter and there is no awkward pauses its just straight to the point.
I would use this idea in my video as if i needed to show something i would cut to it. however i would have music it the background as i believe just makes it more entertaining.
this isn't the best video as it shows you everything you already know and has more than one part to it so this makes it too long and starts to get boring to watch
camera angle- this camera angle is a close up shot and has a shallow depth of field as it only has the camera in focus and the background out of focus. he doesn't change the camera angle as the main focus is the camera so all the focus is on that. he has done much cutting as he is trying to show you how the camera works without missing anything.
lighting- he is outside so just using natural lighting.
sound design- he has done the voice over in a studio as it is very clear but if he was outside there would be a lot more redub and also maybe wind on the microphone so he has recorded the video first and done the voice over afterwards
I would use the idea of recording just the object then a voice over afterwards as i believe it makes all the focus on the object and how it works so people cant look around or see what you are doing they can only see the object and shows exactly how it works.
