ESTABLISHING SHOTS

Establishing shots in a movie is where the start of a scene is shot this can be a drone camera going over cities or something like just a shop but that shot will mean something as its in the opening shot. usually wherever they film the first opening scene in means something about the whole film such as if the film like a city that means this is were the movie is based and if it starts at like a shop this shop will be a part of the film as it could be somewhere people meet up or something serious might happen in the shop. This is basically a foreshadow so its telling you something will happen in this place without even watching the movie. you usually use a long shot when filming an establishing shot and you can create a different picture by how the way the camera is such as you can have an epic tone which is like a fast camera angle and this can show that something is fun or the audience need to focus on this so it rushes to the thing they need to watch. you can the camera still this will make the tone inviting as you can see all the things and have an idea what it's all about however you can have a handheld shot and this can set the tone as creepy and unsettling.
